About

Designer of systems, builder of bridges

I'm a product designer who believes the best interfaces emerge from understanding both human needs and technical possibilities. My work lives at the intersection of design craft, systems thinking, and hands-on building.

My Approach

1

I design from the inside out.

Rather than starting with pixels, I begin with architecture—understanding how data flows, where constraints live, and which patterns will scale. This approach, honed through building production systems, helps me create designs that are both beautiful and buildable.

2

Constraints are my creative fuel.

Where others see limitations, I see opportunities for innovation. Platform APIs shape unique solutions. Technical boundaries focus creativity. Performance requirements drive elegant simplicity. Every restriction becomes a design opportunity that leads to more thoughtful, focused experiences.

3

I validate through building.

Prototypes answer questions mockups can't. Real users clicking real buttons reveal truths no stakeholder review can surface. This bias toward making has shaped every major design decision in my career—from rapid MVP iterations to production-ready systems.

My Journey

My path to product design began with understanding complex business ecosystems. I spent five years managing stakeholder relationships and navigating the economics of creative industries. This foundation in business strategy and user psychology became invaluable when I transitioned to designing digital products that balance multiple user needs with business objectives.

Zory

I co-founded and led product design for a platform that pioneered new interaction patterns for mobile experiences. Working alongside industry veterans, I designed systems that empowered non-technical users to create complex digital products without code. Our design-first approach achieved an 85% activation rate and validated premium pricing for quality digital experiences.

Bookish Boutique

I pushed beyond traditional design boundaries, prototyping an entire commerce platform to validate a business model. Using AI-assisted development, I built a functional marketplace that demonstrated how complex B2B2C platforms could maintain simplicity for end users. This hands-on building experience fundamentally changed how I approach design—I now see systems where I once saw interfaces.

What I Bring to Teams

Technical fluency

I understand implementation complexity, can prototype solutions rapidly, and communicate effectively with engineering teams to find optimal solutions.

Strategic design thinking

I balance user needs with business objectives, considering how design decisions impact metrics, scalability, and long-term product evolution.

End-to-end ownership

From initial research through post-launch optimization, I drive projects forward with attention to both big-picture vision and implementation details.

What I'm Looking For

I'm seeking opportunities to design products that solve complex problems through elegant, scalable solutions. I thrive in environments where design excellence and technical innovation intersect. I'm particularly excited about:

  • Complex B2B platforms that require deep understanding of user workflows and system architecture
  • Technical products where design can democratize powerful tools for broader audiences
  • Data-rich applications that need thoughtful information architecture and visualization
  • Multi-sided platforms where balancing diverse user needs creates interesting design challenges

Whether it's fintech, developer tools, enterprise software, or consumer platforms, I bring the same rigorous approach: understand the system deeply, design from constraints, and validate through building.

A Bit About Me

I work remotely from Birmingham, Alabama, where I live with my wife, two amazing kids, and our cat, Luna. The flexibility of remote work allows me to bring my best self to every project while maintaining the balance that keeps me creative and energized.

When I'm not designing interfaces or diving into code, you'll find me exploring local coffee shops (always searching for the perfect cortado), introducing my kids to the magic of building with LEGOs, or getting lost in a good sci-fi novel. These moments away from the screen often spark my best design insights—reminding me that great products serve real people living full, complex lives.

Let's Talk

If you're building something that requires both design excellence and technical pragmatism, I'd love to hear about it. I bring not just pixels and prototypes, but a deep understanding of how design decisions cascade through entire systems.
